European Accessibility Act (EAA) compliance
Since 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act sets accessibility requirements for many digital products and services sold in the EU. Here is what it means for your website, and how Accessibird helps you work towards it.

Every issue comes with the rule, the exact spot on your page and a guide to fix it. Even the ones on our own site!

What the EAA is
The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) is an EU law that every member state has turned into national law. Since 28 June 2025, covered products and services must meet common accessibility requirements, so people with disabilities can use them on equal terms.
What accessible means in practice
For websites and apps, the EAA refers to the European standard EN 301 549, which follows WCAG 2.1 level AA. Content must be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust: think alt text, keyboard access, enough contrast, clear forms and labels. Covered services must also publish information on how they meet the requirements.
How Accessibird helps
The accessibility checker finds WCAG-linked issues and shows where to fix them. The monitor keeps watching as your website changes, the alt text generator helps describe images, and the widget lets visitors adjust the page to their needs. Accessibird supports the work; a scan or widget is not a legal certificate, and some issues need changes in your code and content.
Checks, reports and your accessibility statement
Accessibird checks your pages against WCAG 2.1, the guidelines that EN 301 549 builds on. Each issue shows the WCAG rule, the page and the exact element, with a guide to fix it. You can download PDF reports and create an accessibility statement for each website, so you can document your progress towards the requirements.
A practical first step
Start with a free check of your website, fix the most important issues first, check again, and record what you did and what is still planned. Get legal advice on your own obligations, as they depend on your service and the countries where you operate.

FAQ
Good questions. Clear answers.
Accessibility & WCAG
Does my website need to meet WCAG?
That depends on your organization, service, contracts, and applicable law. WCAG provides technical accessibility criteria. Get appropriate advice on your obligations; do not treat a scan as a legal assessment.
Does the widget make my website compliant?
Not by itself. It offers useful visitor controls and supported fixes. Manual testing, accessible content, and source-code work remain important.
How does Accessibird support WCAG work?
Use supported checks, relevant WCAG references, reports, and remediation guidance to find and address barriers. Retest changes and include checks automation cannot perform.

Setup & technical
How long does setup take?
Adding the code can take only a few minutes when you have the right access. Platform restrictions and testing may take longer. Setup time is not a promise of compliance.
Will it affect performance?
Any added script can affect performance. Accessibird is designed for lightweight integration; measure the impact on your own website and devices.
Do you need access to my server?
Installing the code does not require sharing your server login. Website content and technical information can still be processed for enabled features. See the privacy policy.
Which platforms can I use?
Many CMS, commerce, and custom platforms support the JavaScript integration. Check script permissions and restricted pages such as hosted checkouts.
Plans & accounts

Can I manage several websites?
You can organize the websites available to your account. Current plan limits and permissions determine your access.
Can agencies work with several clients?
Agency workflows support client websites, reports, and team follow-up. You invoice your own services independently. Reseller commissions follow a separate agreement.
