Our Commitment to Digital Inclusion
At Accessibird, we believe that technology should empower everyone. We are committed to creating a web experience that is inclusive, user-friendly, and accessible to all; regardless of ability. Accessibility is not just a requirement for us; it's part of our mission to make the web a place where everyone can interact with comfort, dignity, and independence.
Standards We Follow
Accessibird follows the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These standards guide our efforts to ensure accessibility for people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities. Our accessibility features are designed to support a wide range of assistive technologies, including screen readers, keyboard navigation, and visual contrast or text-size adjustments.
About the Accessibird Widget
The Accessibird Accessibility Widget enables visitors to personalize their browsing experience in real time. With one click, users can adjust layout, contrast, font size, spacing, and other key aspects of the website's appearance without interfering with its underlying functionality or design. We continuously research and develop new features to make the widget smarter, faster, and more inclusive with every update.
Widget Installation Modes
The Accessibird widget can be installed in one of four supported modes. The mode chosen by the website owner determines which features are available to visitors. The widget's own accessibility statement dialog uses the same mode vocabulary and shows the currently installed mode as both an icon and its human-readable name, so visitors always know which capabilities apply to the site they are using.
- Accessibility Mode only, a minimal integration that surfaces the Accessibird accessibility statement and essential visitor controls, without the full personalization surface.
- Basic, the standard visitor-assistance experience: contrast, text size, spacing, and other core adjustments.
- Standard, everything in Basic plus accessibility profiles that bundle related adjustments for common needs.
- Advanced, everything in Standard plus server-assisted remediation for supported issues on the underlying page.
These are the only public installation modes Accessibird supports. Earlier internal labels are not offered to website owners and are not shown to visitors.
Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing journey. We perform regular accessibility audits, user testing, and AI-assisted evaluations to identify and remove barriers. Some third-party integrations or embedded content may not yet meet accessibility standards. We remain committed to addressing these areas as technology evolves.
Disclaimer
Accessibird provides technology and tools designed to help website owners improve the accessibility of their online experiences. However, the final accessibility and performance of each website depend on multiple external factors, including:
- The underlying website structure, content, and code implementation.
- The correct installation and configuration of the Accessibird widget.
- The user's browser, device, operating system, and any installed extensions, blockers, or assistive technologies.
While Accessibird makes every effort to ensure broad compatibility and high standards, we cannot guarantee full accessibility or uninterrupted functionality on all websites, browsers, or third-party systems. Responsibility for the accessibility of a specific website remains with its owner or operator.
Our Vision
Accessibird exists to make digital accessibility effortless for creators, engineers, and everyone who visits the sites they build. Together, we can build a web that truly works for everyone.
